  Calvary Chapel St Petersburg is our second home. Being a part of this very friendly, ministry based & verse by verse Bible based church we believe to be truly an honor & a privilege.   I have been coming here for 6 years. I have found hope and faith. I loved this church at one point. In the very recent past I have seen changes in a quick downward spiral. The abrupt resigning of Danny Hodges reeks of suspicion. Everyone is kept in the "dark" . Which I can respect. That's not my business. However I speak for many members other than myself an "Honest" explanation would go far. Don't sugar coat it. This was a loss for the church. However he is not the reason we did, or should come to church. Everyone has noticed that the attendance is at half at best. Dave Dodge has been thrown to the wolves and did quite well if I say so myself. I admire his willingness to take on a literal Goliath.
  
  No one is speaking up and I was honestly excepting it. Today I was informed that my small group that meets has been canceled. It took 6 years to find my place in the church.....and this is my reason for my review. People of Calvary need to hear that the core values that we are taught as young Christians is being blatantly disobeyed by Church elders and rubbed in our face. Our small group leader, a church elder was asked to resign due to his opinion to support Danny Hodges. This is clearly a decision from managing members and is now effecting even the small groups not just the regulars. It is God's duty to judge. Not mine, yours or anyone that walks the earth.
  
  Well gentlemen, your message was heard. YOU DON'T LIKE DANNY HODGES. Or anyone who breathes his name. I sincerely hope you can forgive us for liking an imperfect man that has been blessed by God to deliver his word effectively. The man has talent. The gift of gab.
  
  I will no longer attend Calvary which upsets me, it's really unfortunate that business tactics of man have over ridden the process of God.

  Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.
  
  I will still pray for the healing of this church and all its members. Hopefully God's will be done.

  My husband and I were looking for a church when we moved to St Pete in 2000. A neighbor invited us to Calvary Chapel. After one Saturday night service, we felt like we were home!! We are blessed to be able to be part of the church body. We like that Pastor Danny teaches straight through the Bible. We love that when we are not able to attend a service, we can watch live online. They offer cd's of each service and podcasts. Come visit and you will feel at home too.
